Subregion Veddel 

It is important to learn a profession immediately after schooling. In order to facilitate the transition from school to professional life, the "House of Projects – die mügge" has been under construction at the Müggenburg port of entry next to the Ballin-Stadt since the spring of 2010.

The House of Projects is intended to be a place of education and continued education, manual skills and culture for young people and young adults of the Elbe Islands. The opportunities already existing in the district in the areas of sport, culture and integration are to be brought together and expanded at the "House of Projects – die mügge."

The core of the concept is the encouragement of young adults who must be supported in their development based on their own strengths. Especially young people who were not particularly successful in their scholastic development should be given a chance. The work in the boat construction workshop occupies a central role in this regard. For it is here that the potentials and talents of young people must be recognised. Building on this, with a flexible mixture of long-term and short term projects, they can then be purposefully encouraged, qualified and prepared for their future when they attain key competencies.

In addition, the "House of Projects – die mügge" is intended, as a boathouse, to provide opportunities for leisure activities and civic involvement for young Veddel residents. In particular, people with migration backgrounds, who form a large proportion of Veddel inhabitants, are to be won over for water sports and for voluntary activities in the area of dyke protection / disaster control.

The core group assumes the function of control of contents of the Elbe Islands Educational Offensive in Veddel. The core group is composed of representatives of various facilities of Veddel.
