Hybrid House

Four Daylight Situations

Different lighting situations for living and working – that is the fundamental idea behind this building, able as it is to react to the living circumstances in and the requirements of our modern world with its well-conceived architecture. The 16 units, maisonettes for the most part, are suitable both for living and for working thanks to their construction. The lower level can be used as an office unit, while private living quarters are found in the upper storey. The combination of an east-west and north-south module makes the orientation of each maisonette in all four directions possible. The result is four specific daylight situations per living unit, as is otherwise only possible in a detached house. Recessed balconies and gardens make the connection to the outside area. A roof terrace for the upper maisonette creates a view onto the Island Park. The house is being built at a minimum energy standard, using environmentally sound building technologies.
